Thanks for your reply. I hope others will profit from your detailed post and not step into the same traps as we did. Admittably we didn't incur a large loss, but I find these issues simply annoying :-( The Ventra seems to be a great system, but it's implemented with too many exceptions and details, and the online documentation is not as helpful as it should be.
