Working for a new client and I have met the curse of the government contracts and booking agency for the first time
Policy which would not be bent and was I had to travel economy even when I offered to pay the difference
They then left it so late to book they have paid a silly price for the ticket so hoping that would be upgradeable so I hatched a plan - I would either
just buy extra leg room seat (been in 29a and been ok)
or pay up to WT+ and maybe some use for my gazillion Avios would kick in to get the bed I dearly need - land at 0930, delivering presentation at 1400
So here we are today having discovered some time ago that on Monday 1st BA039 is a 744 with no 29a indeed no extra leg room in economy. And the dear corporate agency will not allow me to upgrade the flight even if I pay (some drivel about problems with the Government auditors) so expy agents will not help
So as of now I am holding seat 51B but also hear I should consider 40H though I think the onboard seat maps are suspect and this is not an spacious seat. Row 39 the BA agent has confirmed is blocked to cots still
I have got 29 on the way back so my desire is primarily to look after the outbound flight
Help I need a plan - how busy is this flight - should I stay in 51B or move to 40H
What are the chances of buying an upgrade on Sunday assuming the booking is transferred over at T-24
How full are the J loads
(I know it all depends on ticket type mine is selling class Y, cost £2200 return)
Oh I hate it when someone else controls my bookings
