I remember as a child when my father would travel for business we would meet him at the airport when he returned. For several years he was one of the last people off the plane. Later on, he was one of the first ones off the plane. I didn't understand at the time why.

We all started with no status. I did my time in Coach (Continental SFO/IAH in Coach was absolute torture). Now that I have status and have more money I don't think I am a better person than I was before. And I don't look down on those who are starting out and having made it yet. We were all there once.
