The window seats are AB on that side of the aircraft (not AE).

We prefer an AB or JK pair, because we can face each other and talk to each other naturally, rather than sitting side-by-side in the EF pair. However, if there are no AB or JK pairs left, then an EF pair is better for a couple than either a DE pair or an FG pair - because if you pick DE or FG, then whoever is in the E or F seat is likely to have a stranger in the F or E seat respectively. And this can be uncomfortable.

You'll find plenty of people, though, who prefer an EF pair to an AB/JK type pair.

This is the sort of thing that you can only find out by trying the different options yourself to see what you prefer.

(Note: On the 380 upper deck and the 787, the "stranger" problem doesn't exist because the non-window block is three seats wide, so the middle seat is on its own.)

As for your likely choices, I think I've posted above that I had a problem in 13B from mechanical noise (vibrations) from the aircraft itself. I wouldn't do that row again.
