That called my attention as I booked the nights with points, and typically, the front desk does not require a credit card as a guarantee when paying with points. I have stayed dozens of times on points before and that is uncommon. I am beginning to think there is some sort of difference between this hotel and the other HIEs in relation to damages of linen.
Actually, the hotel has every right to request a CC to cover incidentals and damages when staying on reward and/or free nights.
I have always been asked for my CC when staying on reward nights.
Recently, I stayed at a BW hotel in upper NY state and in the Guest Directory there was a list of charges that would be applied to my credit card for any missing linens and/or soiled damaged bed sheets, etc.
