Suites Class vs Business Class NRT-LAX, much of a difference?
To some it may seem to be a dumb question, because clearly when using points the Suites Class award is the clear winner in terms of total cost (tax, fuel) as a percent of normal fare, but if you book a bulkhead business class seat you can have what amounts to first class space on several other airlines.
The main difference I see is the Suites Class privacy and service, and of course amenities kit and pajamas. There is a difference in "Book the Cook", but not too much (I'm not a fan of lobster), and in business I would miss having nigiri sushi, but I would have had my fill in Tokyo by then.
The saver award cost (which is available) would be in my estimate:
Business Class $411
Suites Class $662
This includes buying the required membership points from AMEX upon transfer to Singapore Airlines.
Having not flown on SQ before, any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.
