Hawaiian flies 2x weeks to Pago Pago from HNL using a DC10. Pan Am flew regularly scheduled service to Pago Pago in the 70's using a 747. Apia, Western Samoa, has 2 airports one of which handles ANZ's 767's. Tongata'pu handles ANZ 767's as well. I guess between AKL and LAX a 747 would have to stop at Rarotonga, Papeete or Pago Pago. Their probably is some tiny atoll with an airstrip long enough to handle large aircraft due to military purposes..?
