But a 747 (of any kind) would not be limited by ETOPS rules, would it?

About 10 years ago, I took a Hawaiian Air flight from HNL to Tonga, which made a stop in Pago Pago. The flight was a DC-8. My recollection is that a loaded DC-8 uses almost as much runway as a 747.
