For other than point accrual and room enhancement, Starwood offers all other upper tier membership perks even when booked through 3rd party, e.g., free wifi and early/late check-out.

Whilst I appreciate each programme sets its own T&C, Le Club Accor does not appear to be as "generous" as some other programmes in "rewarding" its upper tier members. That said, in future, when there is a choice between Accor and Starwood, I'll likely make Starwood my 1st choice. Le Club Accor seems to forget that travel agents are their friends. Frequently, travel decisions are made based on "suggestions" of travel agents.
