Just got an e-mail from my sister-in-law who lives in southern Mexico City. She reports that there is some very light ash falling right now outside her office building but it isn't bad. They've been assured by the civil defense authorities that there is no cause for alarm and scientists are not expecting a full scale eruption. The roads at the base of the mountain have been closed and a perimeter established by the Mexican Army.
