I assume your cards are issued in the UK.

The MBNA card is largely irrelevant to this discussion. It is not issued or administered by American Express, it does not participate in Membership Rewards, and there is no transfer. It is an Emirates co-branded card issued by MBNA, and the rewards are automatically deposited into your Skywards account.

Does the "companion" American Express credit card participate in Membership Rewards? Does it have a separate rewards account, or are the points commingled with those earned using the charge card?
