For flying on BA I still swear by my trusty Tumi Alpha 20" for carry on. Unfortunately it's a bit heavy to get by the Star Alliance 8kg limit(normally I'm around 11-12kg when packed) if they are getting picky at the gate so I do check it sometimes on other airlines. But size wise it's perfect for BA. In summer I've managed to get 6 days worth of stuff in it.
Just out of interest how often do you get your carry on weighed by airlines? I have to say that I've never had anyone weigh my cabin bag on any airline other than Ryanair. I just wonder whether the weight limit is ever enforced? I see them enforcing size limits sometimes but never weight.
