I personally don't like that Marriott. We ran into a major group issue there and their GM (won't mention name) refuses to even call us. In the end, Marriott corporate had to get involved, noticed we were correct and immediately rectified the issue. Given this, I wouldn't count on them caring much. The old owners were very nice, but this new group that owns that hotel has turned it into a crap hole. If you want, I would be happy to share pictures with you (there were holes in the walls where you could see into the other persons rooms, including a bathroom to giving rooms that were other renovation out to guests with half finished products).
However, if you are looking for an upgrade, you'll probably be placed on their Concierge Levels (they have three floors at that Marriott). They were always good with that when I was there. However, never been upgraded to a suite.
The poster above notes the Ren, which is about 2 miles away, but I would agree is a much better hotel option for that area.
