If there is F award availability for the outbound flight then you can upgrade LHR-DEL ( you will probably have to call in)
I assume you are flying SN ( Brussels airlines) EDI-BRU on the 18th?
If everything works on time you should be able to make it ( you will probably have to clear security again). However it will not take much delay to make things very tight and as you are flying on a separate airline BA may not help you if you are delayed.
I have done EDI-BRU before doing a BRU-KOA flight but have flown EDI-LHR-BRU on BA first and flown into BRU the afternoon before.
I would personally fly the night before and enjoy Brussels in the evening.
