The problem with attaching definitions to things like this is not everything needs to be defined. I do an exact combination of the two methods you mentioned, so what am I?

I start planning trips 2 years out. Early in the process, I 'prn' what cards I am going to need for my situation. I then AOR a few times and gather all my points. At 11/12 months out, I book the travel for my family of 4.

Lets just not bother defining these things, and just say people have options. Give them the rules that they have to follow and let them do it.
