The crew of a Chinese domestic airliner thwarted a hijacking attempt Wednesday morning, and airport police killed one of the suspected hijackers after the plane landed safely, state-run media reported.

The plane's captain and another unidentified crew member were injured in the attempted hijacking of the Xinhua Airlines flight, the China News Service and the state-run China Central Television reported. All 143 passengers were unharmed.
