I - like DavidO - thought Norway was indeed breathtaking. But there wasn't much in the way of luxury when we visited (except for a bit of luxury in Oslo) - and I don't think there's much more luxury today.
If I wanted luxury in some of the more/most beautiful and/or inaccessible areas (like in fjord country) - I'd probably look at luxury cruises. We drove up the fjord coast - but had white knuckles a lot of the way - and there wasn't anything in the way of luxury properties.
I'm sure that many agents - including DavidO - would be glad to book a luxury cruise for you (and - since DavidO is our agent - I'll be a shameless hussy and put in a plug for him

). Just be sure to get trip insurance. We wound up driving because we had to cancel our first trip - a cruise on the Hurtigruten (not luxury) - and didn't get back our $500 deposit - even as a credit (pre-DavidO). Robyn
