Don't get there any earlier than you have to. The lounge is nothing special and gets busy. Leave your luggage at the hotel and do whatever you normally do on holiday - a nice dinner, walk along JBR, book a dhow cruise etc and get to DXB no earlier than midnight.

And as CWS says, it can be nice to freshen up before a flight (I try to). Last time I took that flight from DXB, I rounded off the day with a workout and swim in the hotel's spa facilities, shower etc, then a late ish dinner and then to the airport relatively late, as little time in the lounge as possible (over crowded and full of drunks (though that might have been because of the conference I attended)) and then straight to sleep on the plane.
