Yes, times have changed. The airline industry is completely different, and so is the world around us.

If you all want to send your minor children around the world on airlines by themselves now a days, go ahead and do so.

However, do not be surprised if something happens to them along the way. You may never even know that it happened. Just look at the recent news reports of things that have happened to children even within their own neighborhood or at school or church when left alone.

I would rather play it safe than sorry with children myself.

I do agree that the Unaccompanied Minor fees on American Airlines and US Airways are too high. I would suggest booking nonstop Southwest flights as an alternative.

Just my humble opinion.
