I moved to/from the west coast w/ a 2-bedroom apt for 1/3 of that with a moving van service, plus a bit more to have the car shipped. But we digress.
Given the OP has stated he has very little stuff to move that he thinks UPS can handle, this is one of the few times that taking the $5K would work out and, as others have noted, the $4-5K could go towards deposit, buying furniture (so on his next move he'll use the relo service

).
