I don't think a resort pool is the appropriate place to arrange private lessons.
You don't mention how old your son is. If he's between 6 months and 6 years-old , I'd highly recommend:

My family has been using this technique for years as I'm originally from Florida where knowing how to swim means the difference between life and death for little ones in my family. It is not inexpensive but it works. My niece learned to swim when she was under a year.
