Why would you do that? Did they give you some credit? If 5 of 6 bags made it, they're on the hook for getting you 5 now, and 1 later.
Incidentally, it's the same courier company that UA uses when they need to deliver delayed bags to customers, so you saved UA a courier fee by letting UA use the courier service you paid for.
You may want to point that out to UA and ask for a voucher for the mishandle and because you helped them out.
