I think we get this thread every August.

Airlines are better than ever at managing supply and demand and they aren't really after the leisure traveler that much anymore.

Probably still some deals to be found if you're willing to go early December or mid-January. In the past 2-3 years, I've found that we can still travel...but we have to be far more date-flexible than ever before.
