I think you're wrong on this front. I find flyertalk to be a very supportive community and people do look for ways to maximize earning miles. Most are even financially in a good position to MS. The OP does not appear to be, and he blatantly lie on his application, which by all definition, is considered fraud. You could probably figured out by the responses in the original thread that most are not sympathetic to lying about income, and yet many of us point him to resources and give him advice on what's likely to come next and what Amex will request of him (i.e. tax forms).
And notice how he only thanks you for giving useful and helpful advice even when plenty of people did when he was fretting about the situation? You can call it judging or what you will, and I'm saying he's blind to the good advice given and only appreciates the advice he WANTS to see. There was no remorse that he did something wrong, but simply that he got caught by FR (and rightfully so given his small limits). Honestly, you can't blame people for not being more sympathetic to someone who lie, got caught and is then looking for advice to how to get out of it. Who knows, if he's lucky enough, he could get hit by another FR if he keeps up what he's doing -- I'd personally suggest spending on regular spends or paying bills in advance to meet spend (And yes, if you look through the threads, people have gotten FR twice).
Good luck & good riddance.
