A very good friend of mine is in sort of the same situation. She works for a public organization in Norway, which means that she's not allowed to earn any bonus points on job travel. She can have the gold benefits, though, as there are no regulations on that. So far on every trip she had to send a support request afterwards to get her points removed: not a single SAS employee has done it right at once so far.
