I'm with you on this one poorguysanta, it's one of my pet peeves about NH. Even in business class, as an American meat eater I'm rarely able to really enjoy the food on NH. I've encountered twice on 3-4 hour regional flights in business class, seafood only! So I asked if there was any beef, chicken, or pork in economy... FA comes back and apologized but said economy is seafood only as well. Ugh. Earlier this month on the afternoon flight ORD-NRT in business class... dinner after takeoff was good but again the "breakfast" (actually about 6 or 7pm Japan time) was seafood only. The FAs though, while not always the greatest looking do try their best and generally do a great job. Beats the hell out of the average granny with an attitude I get on UA, LOL.
I also agree with your analysis of the Korean flights, I haven't flown KE since CO left Skyteam back in 2009 but I do fly OZ occasionally and love their food... more often than not though I'll trade the convenience of NH over the better (ok better is subjective, let's say more agreeable to my palette) food on other carriers in the region.
