Yak-40 Crashes in Moscow

Unfortunately, there appears to have been yet another fatal accident. http://www.cnn.com/2000/WORLD/europe...ash/index.html

The Yak-40 belonged to Lukoil Avia, so I hear. The Yak-40 has a maximum capacity of roughly 32 passengers and is a short-haul commuter airliner. I think the maximum range about 2,000km. Reportedly there were four pax, and five crew on board. All are believed to have perished.

Some news reports say that the plane that crashed could hold up to 120 pax, but I think that would have to have been a Yak-42.

Here is a photo of a Lukoil Yak-40, a similar a/c to the one that crashed. http://www.bird.ch/Russians/Yak40/YK40P11.html
