Does AIR INDIA give compensation in terms of miles/credit $ for delayed flights? Which is a norm for them ofcourse.

My flight in January 2014 from Delhi-NY was delayed by 16+ hrs, we were moved to some hotel far away, with bad service and room sharing with strangers, and even at NY, the new connecting flights were given after lot of begging and wait times of 8-10 hrs.

A 24 hr journey took 60 hrs in the end.

I'm wondering if I could do anything about this now.
