As much as I would like a full breakfast, the highlighted statement is not correct. SPG offers their Platinum members a Continental breakfast. While some SPG properties do provide a full breakfast, many (primarily North American properties) stick with the minimally required Continental.
My bad, I thought SPG had the same Hyatt benefit and provided a full breakfast if there was no lounge. I also found out from a Marriott plat in my office that not all branches of Marriott provide breakfast either (I know courtyard is one that doesn't).
Even though SPG doesn't provide a full breakfast their benefits are a lot better for guests that stay at their properties a lot (mainly the lifetime status and the 24 hour revolving check in)
