Why Amex referraqls sometimes don't arrive
If the recipient EVER clicked an "unsubscribe" link on an Amex promotional email, they won't get the referral. If the recipient is ALREADY and AMEX customer, they must NOT say "no" to marketing emails. These preferences are set in the Online Services account.
If the recipient goes into Online Services, changes permissions to allow marketing emails (previously not permitted) then allow two days for the change to take effect, THEN send referral again.
This information comes after agonizing trial and error.
