I was watching Hall's press conference live on CNN, and I say bravo to him for calling the media to task for some carelessness in some of its reporting (mostly related to the claim from an anonymous source that the horizontal stabilizer had problems on the flight into PV), despite his overall praise for the media's coverage of this incident.
It is a little spooky to me that there's a decent chance I've flown on this very aircraft. Hopefully, Alaska will be vindicated by the NTSB investigation, that it was a fluke accident. The details about the airworthiness directive on the Alaska Web site are well worth reading; I didn't previously understand the details of the process.
