There are codeshare flights on Aeromexico through MEX, as well as through LAX on AS for the outgoing leg.
Using AS flights will require low award availability too.
DL doesn't normally purchase tickets on other carriers, even partners, to fix schedule changes but for a honeymoon anything might be possible for a high tier elite (does OP or SO have DL or even SkyTeam status?) if the question were posed to the right person.
