After calling and asking if there was anything they could do, the somewhat sounding disinterested phone agent located in Florida told me he would contact higher ups. I got a message in my account a few days later and basically it looked like some sort of form letter stating they could not extend the 3 month window for spend, so no bonus. I did not ask for an extension. Then I decided to call again and got a lady located in South Dakota. She seemed sharp, friendly, and really eager to help. She looked at my spend to date (I had put another 2k on the card by this time), and during the conversation, I told her that 60k would be acceptable since it was totally my fault. She said she could only offer me 10k, but she had 3 contacts that could possibly do something more. She called me back yesterday as she promised and said that she tried hard for the 100k but they authorized 60k. I am pleased with the outcome.
