Perhaps someone familiar with LP can help you out on their experience.

As for the $500 tax (HKD, right) - I don't believe that's a tax, rather - it's a surcharge for the extra guests staying/sharing in the room. One of our SIL was with us on a HKG/SGN/PVG trip and we paid extra for the "triple" room in another HKG property, and it was supposed to be a bigger room in that category, LOL. If you use sites like Agoda to price it out, you should see the difference in prices for a double and triple room at most, if not all hotels in Asia (and, usually, for the Americas too) - whether it's a extra charge/fee or tax, or whatever.
It's Langham Place Mongkok, I believe the one in TST is called The Langham instead (kindly correct me if I'm wrong as this is my first time staying in their property as well).

As for the tax, it's actually 500 USD instead of HKD for a total of 6 nights stay. It's not like I don't want to pay the tax but I was trying to use up my free nights so I want to minimize the amount of money that I need to spend.
