I think with the examination of the wording it's clear there is ambiguity. I'm heartened that others have travelled on saver fares with their bikes! Basically, I agree with Serfty - this could have been solved using the word 'additional' rather than 'separate'. In this case I have no status - AirNZ Gold gives me no additional allowance to the destination I'm travelling to.
I'm still going to call them and get it notes - we're travelling with 4 bikes and I don't want to get pinged at the airport. Thanks again.
