Maybe someone can enlighten me on this.

Why do you have to cancel the companion reservations yourself?

I thought when you changed your companion the future companion reservations were automatically cancelled.

If that's not the case and the reservations stay in the system when you switch back why aren't your flights then OK.

Seems like no harm is being done and it doesn't seem to actually help people fly for free.
