744 is definitely the preferable business class layout but perhaps less preferable from a dispatch reliability / on time standpoint. From the thread on trouble with UA longhaul operations... one day's 744 scorecard:
889: sub N175UA off 900; original 744 bad order -- left 1613, 4'48" late.
853: sub N178UA off 862: original 744 bad order -- left 1615, 2'50" late.
903: N120UA -- left 1515, 1'05" late maintenance.
881: N118UA dep 1332; RTG, fixed, departed 1746, 4'26" late.
926: N180UA to turn late off 927; original nominee bad order; N180UA also bad order; flight cancelled.
Not including 857-16 and 902-16, late for other reasons..........
