Yes, technically, you do have time to switch back your CP to your wife after the August trip with your son but WN has no way of knowing you are planning to do that. If their system allows for you to post-date a switchover from your son to your wife, then they would be on notice, so you may have a case there. But I suspect their systems are not capable of allowing that. So, unfortunately, you'd have to cancel those bookings and redo them once your wife is designated as your CP again. As others have mentioned, there are ways to secure a seat for her on the flights you want until the switchover and you have to decide if that scenario is worth the extra effort. Good Luck!
