A couple of data points...
Just flew CDG-EWR in GF, and 2A was curtained off as a flight crew rest seat.
I have had a couple of itineraries in GF relatively recently, and, usually one or both of two commonly blocked seats opens (and more often than not 2A). Have yet to fly on a segment where both 2A and 2K are curtained off.
Also, re. GF as non-rev class: GF cabin today consisted of four ladies who purchased with miles (they discussed it, rather loudly, pre-takeoff), my wife and myself (paid J + GPUs) and a lady who actually bought it (she was inquiring about buying with miles - apparently she has a MP account that has never, ever, been accessed).
