I have to second what C-W-S said about over-eating, although not necessarily being just about the jetlag. Over-indulging on food (and drinks) on board is just the most sure-fire way of making yourself uncomfortable. It's not worth doing just to maximise the experience.
It's much easier to have a pleasant trip (I'm talking from the physical point of view here) by only eating and drinking what you'd pay to eat at the point of delivery. That way, you'd avoid getting bloated and messing up your body clock further.

Given the arrival time (5 am) and the short flight time, I think this is quite good as it enables people to sleep more (and reduces disturbance in the cabin and the requirement for light). A lot of people don't even bother with that and sleep through. I don't see any need to be fed a full English breakfast 4 hours after finishing the full dinner.

I'm surprised about that. Did he/she have a meal after everyone else had eaten, op-upped or was everyone else in F a GGL, or did the crew not do a prioritisation?
