Without any warning Mexican authorirties pulled the plug on the 3rd largest carrier, Taesa, today, stranding thousands in Mexico City and elsewhere. With bookings alraedy off more than 18%, this could very well spell the end of the line. The Communications and Transportation Ministry will now be conducting a sweeping investigation after irregularities were found.
What a day to ground 27 aircraft of an airline that carried nearly 2 million pax so far, over the first nine months of the year. While it may well be wise, a little warning would have been a good idea!
