Once a blue moon one of my AA MR turns would sneak into the connecting city list. Once, flying SFO-LAX, my "connecting" LAX-SJC flight was on the list, and there was a noticeable pause by the FA before she read out "San Jose, Gate XX."

Another time flying DFW-BDL-DFW, it was something along the lines of, "And we have connecting information for one flight, to Dallas/Ft. Worth, out of Gate XX, which is our arrival gate, which is this plane!" To which someone behind blurted out, "What? Who does that?"
