Thanks, but not sure on the logic in the article as they point out that INTL fares are GST exempt, but then use as an example the GST you would have to pay on a "free" J ticket to LHR. But that flight would have been exempt anyway.

But the real sleeping issue as to do with FBT and FF points - if you own shares in QF. There was a whole range of discussion on that when the new FBT and shares legislation went through and the ATO are reading their swords?

Also that if you purchase a product with FF points (eg. a toaster) and then sell it you are liable for CGT.

A potential way around all of this would be to have you FF points in a non Australian company.

But this is all just from my reading, as I am not an accountant, it would be great if someone who was an accountant could clarify the potential effects of all the new legislation on FF points?
