Stayed a couple of nights with visiting family at the Chateau Laurier earlier this month. Been here many times before, but this was our first time booking Fairmont Gold at this property.
I have found rooms at this property to be looking a little tired in the past (the bathrooms in particular), but our gold room was nice.
We booked a gold suite, and they gave us room 678, which is actually not located on the gold floor (4th), because apparently the nicer gold suites are on the 6th?
Room had a charming salon that was mostly round, so it was presumably located below one of the turrets. I think they gave us the same room as in the website photo.

We enjoyed the room, however felt the Gold lounge was rather small. The first day we had breakfast early, and it was fine. The second day we ate later, and there wasn't enough seating for everyone arriving during the busy time. It was also just one open room, and didn't have any nooks or other spots to give the feeling of a smaller space that I've seen in the gold lounge of other properties.
I particularly liked the special parking spaces in the garage reserved for Fairmont gold, which were right below the garage entrance to the hotel. I didn't even notice them until the second day of our stay, since you have to drive down from the back driveway instead of up.
We asked for a late checkout at the gold desk, at which point they looked a bit worried. Apparently there was a wedding coming in, and the bride was scheduled for our suite, but as a platinum member, she said we were entitled to a 5:30 checkout if we wanted. Not wanting to spoil someone's wedding, we checked out on time since we were really only needing the hotel for parking on our last day as we explored the area on foot.
