agree with pegasus8228...they are very strict...I also know they used to comp some CX MPO to their middle tier (Executive)...
from my own experience...after staying at a single hotel for 9 consecutive weeks, usually 4 or 5 days a week...I asked if they could give me Executive (because my nights per stay is definitely above average - with a total of 40+ nights I am close to top tier with other hotel chains already)...they said, sorry, you only have 9 stays, you need one more...
same at the Elite (25 stays) level...you do need 25 stays, not 24 or less...I was even once told - if you stay at a deeply-discounted corporate-negotiated rate...you need 180-day of rack-rate-equivalent of spendings before they would give you Elite, although you might have 25 stays...
I ended up having 100+ nights with 25 stays before I finally got Elite...but, the benefits afterwards are truly amazing...suite upgrade all the time...much better than my experience as SPG Platinum...
