An information thief? That is a bit comical honestly. Anyone's use of Google's services is voluntary and 98% of it is free. If people don't like the terms that a private company offers a service to you then by all means go somewhere else.

Turn off Private Results in your Google account preferences and this feature is gone.

As long as you use gmail to receive reservation confirmations, they'll know. Might consider another non-Google email address just for that purpose.
