Has anyone had any luck selling them or redeeming them for things other than airfare? Obviously the websites that allow you to transfer miles are a complete rip off, but perhaps there's another way to use them that I've overlooked?

I have ~78,000 miles to unload (mostly earned flying into DRO, TEX, and HDN because they used to be a great alternative to renting a car when skiing).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Having the same issues - the 2-ski-bag fees are killing the only cheapo way to get my rider back & forth to Colorado and Utah for his world cup comps.
I just exchanged the miles in his account for a very reasonable amount of IHG points, that can be put to good use for point break stays I figured.
Perhaps this is an idea ?
