chris1979 has clearly got these from a BA employee, and has also done a mixed carrier booking through a TA and applied a GUF so sounds pretty convincing to me.
I have made a mixed carrier booking through a TA and both the TA and BA tell me there has been no change in the rules. This isn't an attack on anyone, merely a request for clarification of where this update comes from as it doesn't appear to be known by anyone there.
