It worked for me without having to speak to BA (though the agent I spoke to the week before told me this wasn't possible (I hadnt been made aware of the changes at that stage)).

have you tried a different agent? My strategy would have been to do that and/or to ask them to check the updated rules which were issued on 27th May 2014.

The full list (all identical stuff apart from the line on foreign metal) was sent to me by someone who works for BA but I haven't seen any udpated T&Cs or external links either.
