As they changed the FRA-HKG-FRA routing to a double-night-flight not too long ago with the aircraft standing around at HKG for many hours, it must be somehow feasible on high yielding business routes.

I assume they earn pretty good money on this route - incl. the 'long' stop in SIN. SQ can carry all connecting passengers to JKT, DPS, etc. - so, there's no need for LH to do so (plus it saves costs for crew, hotel, slots, ops, etc.)

Ans as FollowTheSun said, changing the flight time would have a significant impact on the pax. Esp. business traveler prefer night flights to get some rest on their way to/from asia. E.g. LH is just reacting on the needs of these pax.
